Detoxifying Twisting Flow

Focusing on detox and twists, this Hatha and Vinyasa class “wrings you out from the middle,” leaving you feeling cleansed and light as a proverbial feather. A heat building yoga class, you’ll perform safe, effective twisting asanas linked to deep breathing. Twisting asanas, or twisted yoga poses, offer a variety of benefits in addition to spine and digestive tract health, as they use nearly every muscle in the body and are believed to positively affect the liver, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, and stomach. Twists squeeze internal organs while encouraging oxygenated blood flow and elimination of metabolic waste products and other toxins. And because yoga twists reduce if not eliminate tension from deep inside the body, you’ll feel relaxed and enjoy a greater sense of well being. A Level 2/3, 60-minute, Vinyasa-style class led by Lauren, this option is accessible to anyone, regardless of practice level. Focus is on twists and cardio, as well as super sweaty flow and body detoxification. You’ll cover several yoga fundamentals in this class, including Triangle, Warrior 2, and assorted forward folds. Warrior 2, or virabhadrasana 2, is a beneficial standing pose designed to strengthen the arms and legs, tone the abdomen, and open the chest and shoulders. Triangle Pose, or utthita trikonasana, is another standing pose that frequently follows Warrior 2. It strengthens the legs, groins, hamstrings, and hips while also opening the shoulders and chest. It is sometimes used to relieve back pain. Join Lauren on this gentle flow journey and enjoy the many benefits it provides! Use it to start your day or relax in the evening. Looking to increase your sense of balance and strength? Then check out Detox and Flow, a Level 2, 30-minute class by Travis. A Power-Vinyasa class, focus is on super sweaty flow, cardio and strength training, detoxification, twists, and core work. Start at the top of your mat in Mountain Pose and allow any “unnecessary noise” in the mind to float away. This is meant to help you listen to your body and determine what exactly it wants and needs. Once you find your breath you’ll begin your practice, which includes getting the spine warmed up for what’s ahead. Move from Plank to Cobra to Downward-Facing Dog, and be ready to sweat! Detox your way to a healthier mind and body with this half-hour class. Sweat out toxins while twisting the organs and providing your system with the boost it needs to finish the day, the week, the month, etc. Take breaks if you need to, and have fun!

Power Level 2

Twist & Detox

Enjoy this Level 2, 30-minute class with Lauren and take some time to detoxify today. A Power Vinyasa class, focus is on cardio and strength training, as well as detoxification, super sweaty flow, balancing postures, and twists. Get your heart pumping and your energy up as you work your organs via a series of twists. Twists are a fundamental part of yoga practice, and allow you to “wring out” your organs. The postures cut off the flow of blood to the digestive organs, and introduce fresh blood (and therefore fresh nutrients and oxygen) to the organs once the twist is released. Fresh blood aids the cells in the cleansing of built-up waste among other fabulous benefits. Twists also allow you to activate the spine and therefore maintain normal rotation, while also reducing any back pain and general stress.
